Bystander saves driver after fiery crash on I-70

ST. LOUIS – A dramatic rescue was made after a crash occurred on Interstate 70 Thursday morning.

The fiery crash happened around 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning in the westbound lanes near Carrie Avenue.

A witness told Fox 2’s Nissan Rogue Runner, Brian Howe, that the car lost control, hit the Carrie Avenue overpass, and then slid down the embankment.

A witness says a bystander pulled the driver from the car before it caught fire.

The driver is in the hospital. The drivers condition is currently unknown.
