Burglars break into St. Louis restaurant Crown Candy overnight

ST. LOUIS – Burglars broke into popular St. Louis restaurant Crown Candy overnight and stole an undisclosed amount of money, according to its business owner.

Crown Candy Kitchen business owner Andy Karandzieff reported of the break-in Saturday morning on social media platform X.

Karandzieff a 41-second surveillance video clip of the apparent overnight break-in. The video shows two apparent burglars force their way into the restaurant, pace around the store, open the cash register, and leave with money within less than a minute.

Karandzieff says the incident caused more than $1,500 worth of damages. It’s unclear if any arrests have been made over the damage.

Crown Candy Kitchen is located in the 1400 block of St. Louis Avenue in the Old North St. Louis neighborhood and has served the St. Louis community for more than 100 years.

“Don’t even say it’s time to move because that ain’t happening We stay for the good people down here,” said Karandzieff via social media platform X.
