ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – The precautionary boil water advisory issued Tuesday morning in north St. Louis County has been lifted, according to Missouri American Water.

Missouri American Water officials announced Thursday morning that the water quality testing showed that the water is now safe for consumption and that customers have been notified through the agency’s emergency notification system.

The advisory was initially issued on Tuesday morning after a 30-inch water main busted around 10:30 p.m. Monday night on Dunn Road just off Interstate 270. The break caused a temporary drop in water system pressure and impacted about 23,000 residents in parts of Berkeley, Ferguson, Hazelwood, and Florissant.
