ST. LOUIS – The Blues 2023–2024 season has been nothing short of a rollercoaster.

“The season as a whole has been up and down,” Blues fan Anthony Pucci said.

The Note started off the season trading wins and losses. A four-game losing streak in December led to the dismissal of Stanley Cup champion coach Craig Berube.

“Sometimes we need to hear the same message, just a different way and maybe a different voice,” Blues fan Shep Hyken said.

It’s a bit of deja vu for fans. Back in 2019, it was Berube leading the Blues to the Stanley Cup after taking over from then-fired coach Mike Yeo. Now, interim coach Drew Bannister is turning things around for the team.

“Think about what happened in 2019 when we were in last place,” Hyken said. “We went from worst to first and we are not in last place right now.”

The Blues are on the longest winning streak of the season, having won five games heading into the final game before the all-star break, then moving into a playoff position.

“We are sitting really good in this position right now,” Blues fan Parker Lovall said.

Interim coach Bannister has won 13 of his first 20 games for the team.

“The players just seem like they are trying harder in a different scheme that’s working,” Pucci said.

The Blues currently sit in a wildcard position and if things go their way, they could sneak into a top-three spot in their division.

“We got to play it one game at a time,” Hyken said.
