ST. LOUIS – Those with a sweet tooth in St. Louis are in luck, as Blue Bell Ice Cream is making it’s way into the city with a new local favorite flavor.
Distribution of the treat will be found in select grocery stores starting Monday.
“Consumers have contacted us through letters, phone calls, email and social media, asking when Blue Bell will be available in St. Louis,” said Jimmy Lawhorn, Blue Bell vice president, sales & marketing, in a November 2023 release. “We are happy to say Blue Bell is on the way! We will offer our full product lineup.”
The company posted on X (formerly Twitter) hinted that they are also adding a specific flavor dedicated to one of St. Louis’ favorite desserts: gooey butter cake.
Blue Bell has a 16,000-square-foot distribution facility located in St. Peters. While the product won’t specifically be produced on-site, the facility holds a storage room to keep all the containers cold.
“Blue Bell utilizes direct store delivery, which means no one other than a Blue Bell employee handles the product from the time it is made until it reaches the store,” a release said.
