ST. LOUIS – As we continue to honor Black History Month, there is another museum holding a wealth of history that you can stop by to gain some knowledge and see artifacts, the George B. Vashon Museum of African American History.

Is on what was called the historic ‘Millionaire’s Row’ in the St. Louis Place neighborhood. The house went up in 1879, so it holds history in itself. There, you can find 10,000 artifacts that are part of a collection spanning 250 years of African American history in St. . Louis, Missouri.

Calvin Riley, the executive director of the museum, says the artifacts, which started as a personal 40-year collection of his, were belongings of doctors, lawyers, artists, Tuskegee airmen, politicians, nurses, educators, business owners, entertainers, law officers, and others who contributed to St. Louis black history.

The museum is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday or you can make an appointment. If you stop by, Colin Riley also has a book about all these artifacts, so you can dive into the history at home.
