ST. LOUIS — The Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate Company and Bissinger’s will be expanding their production facility and offering visitors more to do. Chief Chocolate Officer Dan Abel Jr. says the company has acquired neighboring property and is constructing a new building that will connect to their main facility, bringing the total space to approximately 65,000 square feet. The expansion will allow them to grow its national accounts, build a new sales team to reach more brick-and-mortar retail stores nationwide.
For local chocolate enthusiasts, the expansion promises an enhanced tourism experience. The current 15-20 minute factory tour will be doubled in length, allowing visitors to see more of the facility. Additionally, they plan to open a coffee shop, cafe, and cocktail lounge on-site, complete with an outdoor patio.
The new space will also feature an event room for corporate events and birthday parties, with potential chocolate-making experiences. Abel hinted at the development of chocolate cocktails and the possibility of hosting live music events on the patio.
The project’s scope has expanded from its initial goal of completion by Christmas, moving the anticipated opening date to March of next year. This expansion marks an exciting new chapter for the beloved local chocolatier, promising a comprehensive “chocolate campus” experience for visitors.
