SAUGET, Ill. — Baseball fans in the St. Louis area are in for a treat as two unconventional baseball events make their way to the region. The Gateway Grizzlies are set to host “Spooky Ball,” a Halloween-themed baseball extravaganza.

The Savannah Bananas are coming to Busch Stadium in 2025. There is a lot of excitement about that news in St. Louis. The Bananas will take the field at Busch Stadium on April 4 and 5, 2025. Those interested in attending a game can either join the ticket lottery or try to purchase tickets.

On October 19th at 4:00 PM, the Gateway Grizzlies will transform their Sauget, Illinois ballpark into a spooky spectacle for “Spooky Ball.” This event, which draws inspiration from the Savannah Bananas’ games, combines baseball with Halloween fun and distinctive rules.

Spooky Ball will feature unconventional gameplay, including fan-caught foul balls granting extra outs, props during at-bats, and mandatory dancing for batters. The game will pit the Venom against the Skellingtons, with a portion of ticket sales benefiting Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital.

The Gateway Grizzlies, founded in 2001, are members of the Frontier League’s West Division and play their home games at the 6,000-seat Grizzlies Ballpark near St. Louis.
