ST. LOUIS – Temperatures are heating back up for this mid-July series against the Cubs, and fans are visiting from all over.

Whether one rallies for the Redbirds or roots for their northern rivals, baseball fans this weekend can all agree on one thing: it’s going to be a hot weekend at Busch Stadium.

“I’m not gonna lie, it’s been real hot…it’s still a little muggy, little hot. It’s definitely bearable right now,” Ajeyo De, a Cardinal’s fan visiting from Memphis, said.

These visitors from Memphis are taking in the sights and sounds of St. Louis, which includes a trip to the turf.

“Definitely dress for the mugginess because you’ll be sweating a bit,” De said.

Many fans are finding ways to beat the heat early. Some travelers from the Quad Cities took in a favorite indoor attraction ahead of the first pitch.

“Well, they just came from the City Museum so they’re pretty toasty,” Melissa Nelson, visitor from the Quad Cities, said.

Cardinal Nation and their guests plan to stay cool.

“Drink lots of water for sure. We’ve been catching a couple of misters as we’re passing by. I think as long as you stay hydrated, you can be out here all weekend, honestly,” Tyler Celosky, a fan from Memphis, said.

Baseball fans plan on bringing accessories to take with them to the stands in Busch Stadium.

“Baseball hats, maybe cool rags. We have neck fans. Those have come in very handy, so yeah, we’ll wear those too, I’m sure,” Amanda Allison, visiting from the Quad Cities, said.

Whether its sitting in the shade or filling up on ice-cold water, best buddies will stay cool no matter what the outcome is

“Even if any opposing teams lose, we would probably still stay friends no matter what,” young fan Will Allison said.

While Friday night’s temperatures won’t be too bad, things will be heating up even more for Saturday’s double header, and Sunday’s game will be a scorcher.
