Autopsy completed in Lincoln County infant death investigation

TROY, Mo. – The investigation into an infant’s death in rural Lincoln County continues, as authorities ask for privacy on behalf of the family.

According to officials, the Lincoln County 911 Dispatch received a call around 9:30 a.m. Monday for an unresponsive infant at a home on Charlotte Drive. Upon arrival, emergency crews performed life-saving measures on a 45-day-old baby.

The infant was transported to Mercy Lincoln Hospital, where the baby was pronounced dead.


Missing Illinois man in Arizona sparks suspicions from family

The Lincoln County Coroner’s Office completed its autopsy Tuesday. Further analysis is pending. The cause of the infant’s death remains undetermined, according to Coroner Dan Heavin.

Additional information on the investigation will be released as it becomes available.

Missouri’s Child Fatality Review Program requires a multi-disciplinary team to review all child deaths under the age of 18. This group consists of law enforcement, medical examiners, child protection services, and public health officials.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Technical Assistance Team (STAT) are assisting the coroner’s office with the investigation.
