Asian elephant Jade’s first calf to be born at Zoo through artificial insemination

ST. LOUIS – Asian elephant Raja’s daughter, Jade, is pregnant with her first calf.

The calf will be the firstborn at the St. Louis Zoo through artificial insemination. Jade is nearly ten months pregnant and is due late next year.

15-year-old charged as adult in fatal carjacking from January

This will begin the fourth generation of Asian elephants at the St. Louis Zoo.
