ST. LOUIS — Police are investigating after a man and woman were robbed at gunpoint on the night of July 19 near Vernon Avenue in the Academy/Sherman Park neighborhood.
According to police, a woman was standing outside her home when she was approached by a boy and a girl who appeared to be in their teens. The boy pulled out a gun and announced a robbery.
The woman handed over her cell phone, and the suspect then demanded money. At that moment, the woman’s husband came outside, and the boy fired a shot into the air.
The husband handed over cash in exchange for the suspects to return the woman’s cell phone. The suspects then fled the area.
