Aldermen allocating opioid settlement money today

ST. LOUIS – Money from a national opioid settlement is coming to St. Louis.

A committee of St. Louis aldermen is considering a bill Thursday to give the city health department $276,000. So far, the state of Missouri has settled with ten drug companies that make or sell opioid painkillers.

More than 2,100 Missourians died of an overdose last year. Most of those deaths involved fentanyl.
