EAST ST. LOUIS Ill., – Illinois Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski is holding a roundtable at East St. Louis High School to discuss the importance of the Affordable Connectivity Program.
The federal initiative helps ensure low-income families can afford internet access, but it stopped accepting new applications and enrollments on February 7.
Budzinski says if Congress doesn’t provide the program with more funding, enrolled households will stop receiving the benefits in May.
