ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – St. Louis County Police are investigating an incident where a man was fatally struck by a vehicle in South County Tuesday morning.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Tesson Ferry Road and Kempf Drive at around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday morning. The scene is now clear, but that was certainly not the case earlier.

Police say that an adult man was struck by a minivan while walking across Tesson Ferry Road. The man was transported to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities say the driver of the minivan stopped and remained at the scene where the deadly incident took place.

At this point, authorities have not released details of the victim, only that the victim was an adult man. County police say that the accident reconstruction unit was called in to investigate what exactly happened.

This is the third deadly incident of someone being hit and killed by a vehicle in the St. Louis area since Saturday. The other two incidents were hit-and-runs.

On Saturday morning, a man and his dog were killed in Florissant after being struck by a vehicle. An arrest has since been made in that case. Then early Monday morning, a man was hit and killed in St. Louis City on the 3800 block of Lee Avenue. In that case, the hit-and-run driver is still at large.
