ST. LOUIS – St. Louis City homicide detectives are searching for killers Thursday morning after two separate murders overnight.

Officers were among the first to respond to the second overnight murder. That incident unfolded at Mimika and Gladys in the North Pointe neighborhood. That is not far at all from the Jennings border.

Police got the call there about 2:40 a.m. Authorities told FOX 2 that when officers arrived, they found a man lying in the street, shot in the head. He was unconscious and not breathing and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released the victim’s name at this point. However, they do tell us he was 28 years old.

So far, there are no suspects in the case.

The other murder scene unfolded Wednesday night at California and Cherokee in south St. Louis. That is on the border of the Gravois Park and Benton Park West neighborhoods. St. Louis Police got that call about 10:15 p.m.

In that case, investigators revealed that a male victim was shot multiple times. He, too, was pronounced dead at the scene. The police did not release the name or age of the victim in that shooting. We are told that the police do think they know who the shooter is in the case. However, that person is not yet in custody.

If you have any information on either of these murders, you are asked to call St. Louis Police. FOX 2 will update these stories with more information as it becomes available.
