Major Case Squad tasked with investigating Iron County homicide

IRON COUNTY, Mo. – The Mineral Area Major Case Squad is investigating a homicide in rural Missouri.

On the evening of January 25, deputies with the Iron County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a home in the 60 block of Wild Turkey Road in Middlebrook after a body was found at the residence.

That individual, a 65-year-old man, was believed to be the victim of a homicide. His name has not been released.

Chief Deputy Sheriff Chuck Helton activated the Major Case Squad to tackle the investigation.

According to Sgt. Greg Adams, commander of the Major Case Squad, authorities are looking for a vehicle of interest tied to the case. It’s a 1991 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with Missouri license plates 0PDY90. The vehicle is two-toned gray and black in color, with a red pinstripe and duct tape on the rear window.

Anyone with knowledge of the vehicle’s whereabouts or information on the investigation itself is asked to call the Iron County 911 Center at 573-431-3131.
