ST. LOUIS – A former St. Louis alderman won’t get a break on a three-year federal prison sentence.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Jeffrey Boyd was convicted of taking bribes and committing fraud in December 2022, alongside two other former aldermen. Boyd argued he should be released six months early due to a change in federal sentencing rules.
The judge denied the motion. Boyd is set to be released on July 1 .
