1 dead, 1 injured in rollover crash in rural Missouri

BOLLINGER COUNTY, Mo. – One man died and another was seriously injured after their pick-up truck went off the road and overturned in rural Missouri on Monday.

According to a crash report filed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 5:20 a.m. on County Road 924 in Bollinger County, about four miles north of Patton.

A 2004 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling west on the road when the truck ran off the road, struck a tree and an embankment, and overturned.

The driver, identified as Kody Menteer, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 30. A passenger was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Neither man was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

It’s unclear if Monday’s icy road conditions played a factor in the crash.
