Clayton School District backs out of Caleres property deal

CLAYTON, Mo. – The Clayton School District backs out of the controversial purchase of the Caleres property.

The $20 million purchase agreement was brought to the public less than a month ago. The district planned to turn the building into an empowerment campus.

Many criticized the district for their lack of transparency surrounding the deal and how it would impact taxes.
