SPANISH LAKE, Mo. – One man died Thursday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Spanish Lake. A pedestrian was also injured in the crash.

According to Sgt. Tracy Panus, a spokeswoman for the St. Louis County Police Department, the crash happened around 4 p.m. near the intersection of Larimore Road and Baron Avenue.

Police arrived to find a Jeep Compass crashed into the bushes of a residential front yard. The driver, an adult male, was having an unspecified medical emergency. He was rushed to a local hospital but was pronounced dead.

Investigators claim the driver was traveling southbound on Larimore when the vehicle left the roadway, hit a pedestrian, and then struck bushes in a front yard.

Panus said the pedestrian was brought to a hospital. Their injuries were not life-threatening.
