ST. LOUIS – Each month on FOX 2, we salute local first responders, military, or veterans with our Proud to Serve award.  This month, we shine the spotlight on Rose Ganz, who served in and retired from the United States Air Force between 1979-1994.  As a civilian, Rose has dedicated her time to taking care of other veterans.  Since 2003, Rose has spent countless hours volunteering for the Gateway Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America, but also serves with the National chapter as well.  Rose says she loves being around other veterans because she can relate to their needs.  Her work extends into advocacy at the local, state, and federal levels as well to ensure our laws are updated to include paralyzed individuals.

Rose serves on the National Chapter’s women’s health committee, she participates in local events, and as a person living with Multiple Sclerosis, Rose inspires paralyzed veterans to achieve a quality of life.

Rose was nominated by Chris Blanchard, Executive Director of Gateway PVA:

Rose has been in involved with GPVA and the VA since 2003. All of her activities have been on a strictly volunteer status and she has never received any compensation. She was served in several positions over the years including Sports Director, Vice President and now President. She has volunteered at the VA for many years and currently serves in three different positions/committees. Rose is also a retired Air Force veteran. Having provided a brief history, the most important thing to know about Rose is that she truly believes in serving other veterans in any way that she can and has been doing that for over 2 decades.

Rose Ganz receives $500 from Brown & Brown Law Firm and FOX 2’s Proud to Serve Award.   If you would like to nominate a 1st responder, military or veteran, click here.
