ST. LOUIS – A major honor for SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. For the 11th straight year, U.S. News & World Report has ranked Glennon as one of the best children’s hospitals in the nation.

“The significance of these rankings is actually not to be overlooked. It’s a great accomplishment for our institution, and it really represents the culmination point of all the hard work that our faculty, nurses, nurse practitioners, staff, and everyone at Cardinal Glennon have done to provide outstanding care for the children of St. Louis and Southern Illinois,” Dr. Andrew White, pediatrician-in-chief and chief medical director of SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, said.

The rankings for 2024-2025 give Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital rankings in seven specialties, including gastroenterology, cardiology and heart surgery, neonatology, cancer care, nephrology, pulmonology, and urology.

“We’re particularly proud of our rankings of our gastroenterology program, which is now the number one program in the state of Missouri, ranked at number 19 in the country,” White said.

U.S. News & World Report rankings are based on a rigorous review of hospitals nationwide. The rankings assist parents and caregivers, along with their physicians, in navigating the challenges of choosing the best possible care for children with serious illnesses or complex medical needs.

“We strive to be better than the year before; strive to be better in every category,” White said. “So that’s kind of the nature of medicine these days is to look for ways of continuous improvement.”
