St. Louis man arrested in Mississippi for Missouri homicide

WAYNESBORO, MISSISSIPPI – A St. Louis man was arrested Monday in Mississippi for the shooting death of two people in Missouri.

According to our affiliate station KOLR, Jeffrey Garrett, 40, allegedly shot and killed two people in Springfield, Missouri, on July 5 around 3 a.m.

Garrett has been charged for killing Jack Osborn, 46, and Melissa Smith, 44. He was arrested in Waynesboro, Mississippi, after Springfield Police received a tip regarding Garrett.

He is held with no bond and faces two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action.
