ST. LOUIS – Another day where we’ll see a chilly start followed by a quick warm-up. Sunny with highs in the low 80s Thursday. Clear and not as cool overnight; wake-up temps in the mid-50s.

We’ll continue to get warmer Friday and Saturday. Saturday’s highs will be almost 15 degrees above average. A weekend cold front will bring a change. That arrives early Sunday and brings some breezy conditions but no rain. It does bring the chilliest air of our fall season so far.

Highs Sunday will be back in the 70s. Highs on Monday will only be in the 60s. A widespread frost will be likely early Tuesday as temperatures away from metro St. Louis fall into the 30s.

Hurricane Milton made landfall around 8:30 p.m. eastern Wednesday evening near Siesta Key as a Category 3 storm. It is still a Category 1 storm as it begins to move off the east coast of the Florida Peninsula and over the Atlantic Ocean.

While the worst of the storm has passed, high winds and rain will linger Thursday. There were more than 120 tornado warnings across south Florida Wednesday ahead of the storm’s landfall.
