SEATTLE – Five years have passed since the St. Louis Blues won their only Stanley Cup title in franchise history. Only four champions remain from that core as the Blues open a new season on Tuesday.

These are the last four Blues who played in the 2019 Stanley Cup Final and remain on the roster for the 2024-25 season include the following…

Jordan Binnington (Goaltender)

Colton Parayko (Defenseman)

Brayden Schenn (Forward)

Robert Thomas (Forward)

There are a few other loose connections from the Stanley Cup season to the Blues’ current roster. Veteran forward Oskar Sundqvist departed briefly and returned to St. Louis last year, though he will start the current season on the injured reserve while recovering from an ACL injury.

And rising star Jordan Kyrou made his NHL debut during the 2018-19 season, though his time with the Blues was limited that season and he did not appear in playoffs that season, so he wasn’t credited with a Stanley Cup title.

The Blues will roll with 12 forwards, 8 defensemen and two goalies at the big-league level to start the new season.

Among that core, there are seven newcomers this season…

Radek Faksa (Forward)

Dylan Holloway (Forward)

Mathieu Joseph (Forward)

Alexandre Texier (Forward)

Philip Broberg (Defensmen)

Pierre-Olivier Joseph (Defensemen)

Ryan Suter (Defensemen)

The Blues can dress up to 18 skaters and two goalies each game, so presumably, two rostered players will sit out the season opener.
