ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A man faces felony charges nearly four years after a woman’s shooting death, which followed a car crash in north St. Louis County.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged Treshawn Fox, 22, of Bonne Terre, Missouri, with first-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of armed criminal action.

Fox is accused in the death of Chrishell Fulton on New Year’s Eve in 2020. Authorities say he was already jailed in Bonne Terre on unrelated charges.

According to a probable cause statement, Fulton was driving a GMC Yukon when she was involved in a crash with a driver in a black Lexus in the 300 block of Shepley Drive. At some point after the crash, Fulton was fatally shot.

One witness reportedly identified the suspect who shot Fulton as a passenger in the Lexus vehicle. Investigators say a firearm was found in a nearby Chevrolet Impala.

The probable cause statement notes that ballistic analysis of the firearm determined that the shell casings found at the scene and the bullet recovered from the victim’s body at the autopsy matched the firearm located in the Chevrolet Impala.

Later on, Fox’s DNA was found on the magazine of the firearm in the Impala vehicle. Police learned there were also Facebook messages between the driver of the Lexus and Fox, in which Fox allegedly asked the driver if police discovered the firearm or his cellphone at the scene.

The St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons is handling this investigation.
