3 women struck by SUV while trying to break up fight in Downtown West

ST. LOUIS – On Tuesday, an SUV struck and injured three women in Downtown West outside of a nightclub.

According to a statement from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident took place near the intersection of North 19th Street and Washington Avenue.

The three women, ages 28, 31, and 32, told police they were attempting to break up a fight outside the nightclub when another woman in a maroon Ford Edge ran them over with the vehicle. The women said they also heard gunshots being fired during the ordeal.

The gunfire missed the three women, but one victim suffered a broken leg from being struck by the SUV. The other two women suffered minor scrapes.
