ST. LOUIS – CITYPARK, the home field for Major League Soccer’s St. Louis SC, has been named as one of the “World’s Most Beautiful Sports Venues List 2024,” according
The honor was given by Prix Versailles, which releases a series of lists honoring the finest architectural projects across different venues worldwide. The list for the World’s Most Beautiful Sports Venues List was initially introduced in 2019 and picks the best venues based on interior and exterior architecture.
St. Louis’ CITYPARK seats 22,500 fans, making it the largest urban professional sports campus in the United States. Elements of the venue were designed to reflect the surrounding neighborhoods in St. Louis and drew inspiration from the iconic Gateway Arch.
CITYPARK will now compete against five other sports venues for a chance to win one of three 2024 World titles: the Prix Versailles, the Special Prize for an Interior, and the Special Prize for an Exterior.
CITYPARK will be going against Masschusetts’ Gillette Stadium, Canada’s təməsew̓txʷ, France’s Olympic Aquatic Centre, and China’s Workers’ Stadium and Hybrid Stadium. The Prix Versailles World Jury will vote on the titles, and the winner will be announced on Dec. 2.
