ST. LOUIS – With no postseason baseball in St. Louis, all was quiet downtown Monday. The Cardinals front office end-of-season press conference gave fans an idea of how thing will look moving forward.
“Yeah, it’s always a sad day when we don’t make it to October,” baseball fan Tony Arro said.
The team’s owners announced plans to develop their player development with Chaim Bloom taking over. Manager Oliver Marmol and General Manager John Mozeliak will return for one more year before Bloom takes over.
“It was a C (grade season). Much better than the F (grade) they got last year, but they still got to work on hitting,” baseball fan John Henderson said.
Most fans FOX 2 spoke to gave the team a middle-of-the-road grade for the 2024 season.
“A C minus. I liked Mike Shildt—I loved the way things were going there. But it seems like ever since that transaction, things have gone astray… they really need to clean the house,” Arro added.
