JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. – Two individuals have been charged following over $9,000 worth of tools being stolen in Jefferson County last year.
Trenton Hochthurn of House Springs, Missouri, and Rickie Wells of Harrison, Arkansas, are both charged with five felony counts of stealing $750 or more, along with one misdemeanor count of stealing.
According to court documents, both men are accused of breaking into a victim’s vehicle on Dec. 6. They allegedly stole an abundance of tools and electronics kept in the victim’s car, including an iPad.
Surveillance footage captured the suspects vehicle and the pair entering the victim’s car. When police arrived at the pinged iPad location, the vehicle and description of suspects, including clothing, matched those seen in the video footage.
Both Hotchurn and Wells admitted to the theft, and authorities were able to recover all the stolen items. Records state a mask found inside the victims backpack, which had been rummaged through, also resembled the same one seen in surveillance video.
Hearings are scheduled for both individuals on Nov. 6.
