ST. LOUIS – Two men have pleaded guilty to federal charges following an armed robbery of a St. Louis Gamestop store last year.
Jason Fox, 39, pleaded guilty to one count of possession and brandishing of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence. Orlando Perez, 37, pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact to a robbery.
According to a news release from the U.S. Dept. of Justice, Fox robbed the GameStop store in the 3700 block of South Kingshighway Boulevard on Jan. 20, 2023.
Investigators say he brought merchandise to the counter, then produced a gun and demanded “all the money from the registers.” Fox also reportedly took off with a variety of video games and two Xbox consoles.
Authorities traced Fox to a nearby shopping center, where they caught Perez with the keys to the vehicle used in the robbery, along with cash and ammunition. Police then found stolen merchandise in the back of the vehicle. Investigators say that Perez also admitted to owning the gun prior to his arrest and was also found in possession of methamphetamine.
Fox is scheduled to be sentenced December 9, while Perez is scheduled to be sentenced January 6, 2025, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
