ST. LOUIS – Skies are clearing out Wednesday morning. I can see the Moon, Mars, and Jupiter rising in the eastern sky. Let’s watch for some spots of fog through 8 a.m.

Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies through Wednesday. A lot of Wednesday will be dry, but I can’t rule out a few pop-up showers late Wednesday afternoon and early evening. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s.

It will be partly cloudy and dry Wednesday overnight; Thursday wake-up temperatures will be in the upper 50s. Thursday will start dry with increasing clouds through the afternoon and highs again in the 70s.

Tropical Storm Helene is moving into the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to reach hurricane strength later Wednesday morning. It is expected to make landfall late Thursday in Florida’s Big Bend region on the Gulf Coast.

Moisture from that storm is expected to get pulled into the bi-state region, bringing rain starting late Thursday. The most widespread rain will be on Friday, but rounds of showers and storms will likely continue through the weekend.
