Two men sentenced for 2021 fatal St. Louis shooting

ST. LOUIS — Mark Perry, 38, and Jonathon Jones, 19, have been sentenced for the 2021 fatal shooting of Brandon Scott in downtown St. Louis.

The incident happened during an argument that happened in traffic on September 6, 2021. The shooting happened near the intersection of Washington Avenue and N. 2nd Street just before midnight. The victim was shot multiple times at a red light, with surveillance video capturing the event.


Shooter found not guilty for killing man who was looking for help

Police found Scott’s body inside a vehicle resting on the steps to the Arch grounds. He was shot several times and pronounced dead at the scene.

Perry received a 35-year sentence: 25 years for second-degree murder and 10 years for armed criminal action. Jones was sentenced to 22.5 years: 15 years for murder and 7.5 years for armed criminal action. Both sentences will be served consecutively.

Jones faces an additional murder charge from a separate incident in 2022.
