Officials say Hedrick was driving too fast for the road conditions when the Chevrolet’s right rear tire failed. MSHP reports the vehicle spun into the center median and overturned, ejecting Hedrick from the vehicle.

Hedrick was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Hedrick was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
