ST. LOUIS – A man who threw a French Bulldog puppy out a window has pleaded guilty to drug and weapon charges on top of the animal abuse.

24-year-old Landon Allen took a plea deal earlier this summer for a drug charge, but a federal judge sentenced him to just over six years in prison Thursday.

The North County Police Cooperative was investigating two stolen French Bulldogs last October. Officers set up a meeting to purchase the dogs, and that is when they arrested the seller.

As they tried to recover one of the dogs, a dog was thrown out of the third-story window. Inside the apartment, police found Allen hiding inside a closet with 105 capsules of fentanyl in his pocket. More empty capsules were discovered, as well as two firearms and a press to make pills.

The owner of the dog says he was just 4-months-old at the time and was taken to the animal hospital for recovery.

Allen admitted that he intended to sell the fentanyl.
