ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A man accused in a deadly marijuana deal in St. Louis County was arrested Tuesday in Kansas after more than a year on the run.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office had issued “at large” charges on Dominic Stidmon, 21, on Aug. 23 for charges of second-degree murder, first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action.

Police say Stidmon was taken into custody and booked into jail Tuesday in Topeka, Kansas.

According to a probable cause statement obtained by FOX 2, Stidmon made arrangements to purchase marijuana from another man, who Stidmon allegedly shot and killed during the meetup. Stidmon reportedly took off with the victim’s marijuana.

Investigators say that phone records confirmed Stidmon was communicating with the victim, later identified as Lawrence Carr, Jr., 22, before the exchange. Police also found shell casings near the scene of the reported meetup.

The St. Louis County Police Department credits the Topeka Police Department and says it was “instrumental” in the arrest of Stidmon.
