St. Louis ranks high for same-sex couple households, U.S. Census shows

ST. LOUIS – The United States Census Bureau recently released new data showing St. Louis city as a top place for same-sex couple households.

According to the U.S. Census, St. Louis city ranked as the fifth U.S. city with the highest share of male-to-male couple households and seventh in the country for female-to-female households.

The data explains that out of 144,870 St. Louis households, male-to-male couples make up 3.3% of households and female-to-female couples make up 2.4% of households.

San Francisco, California, ranked first for male-male households, while Hampshire, Massachusetts, ranked first for female-female households.

Los Angeles County ranked first overall in 2020 for having the largest number of female-female and male-male couple households.
