MEHLVILLE, Mo. – On Friday night, the Mehlville High School football team came together for more than just a game. The Panthers alumni dedicated the Mehlville vs. Northwest match up in honor of officer Travis “TJ” Brown.

Brown, a 2006 Mehlville graduate, was seriously injured in Ferguson last month after being knocked to the ground by a protester.

Fans showed support in various ways around the game. Between the first and second quarters, the crowd witnessed a ‘miracle minute’, a donation blitz where cheerleaders dashed through the stands collecting as many donations as they could in 60 seconds. Mehlville also sold special “Team TJ” shirts in support.

As of September, officer brown’s condition remains critical. He battles pneumonia, and doctors say his lungs are the primary concern.
