A memorial church service will be held in Ted Jr.’s memory on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. at the Chapel at St. Timothy & St. Titus at Concordia Seminary of St. Louis. The church is located at 801 Seminary Place.

Family members, friends and community members are all welcome to the memorial service.

Organizers say the service will celebrate the life, service, and legacy of Ted. Organizers are asking for memorial donations tp be made to Historic Trinity Lutheran Church in Soulard in lieu of flowers.

Ted Jr.’s father, Ted Sr., opened his first frozen custard shop in St. Petersburg, Florida, in 1929, then set his footprint in St. Louis one year later. When his father passed, Ted Jr. fully embraced the family business, spending countless hours behind the counter at the iconic Chippewa location.

In his memory, the Chippewa frozen custard stand will be closed on Sept. 14.
