ST. LOUIS – LoRusso’s Cucina, a beloved St. Louis Italian restaurant for several decades, is set to close doors in late-September.

The restaurant will officially close on Sept. 29, according to reports from St. Louis Magazine and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Staff members shared St. Louis Magazine’s report on Facebook to inform of the upcoming closure.

In March 2022, chef and co-owner Rich LoRusso passed away at the age of 63 after battling a rare form of ALS.

The Post-Dispatch reports that multiple factors contributed to the decision to close, including the end of a recent lease and increased operating costs.

LoRusso’s Cucina is known for classics like toasted ravioli and veal parmesan, along with Italian seafood and vegetarian-based options.
