Five people injured in St. Louis shooting, one shot in the leg

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – A St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department officer was working in the 1900 block of Washington when he heard gunfire early Sunday morning.

The officer saw people running toward his location and learned that five people had been injured in an incident involving at least one shooting. The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m.

A 35-year-old woman was shot in the leg. One other woman and 3 men were also injured in the incident, possibly by bullet fragments.

The 35-year-old woman who was shot along with two other injured victims were all taken to a hospital and are listed in stable condition. The other two victims refused to be taken to a hospital after being treated at the scene by EMS.

The investigation is ongoing.
