ST. ANN, Mo. – A St. Ann woman remains jailed on a $500,000 cash-only bond for allegedly shooting and killing a man inside her home.

According to the St. Ann Police Department’s probable cause statement, the shooting happened on Wednesday, August 28 in the 10600 block of Veronica Court, just north of Tiemeyer Park.

Police said Rebecca McCullough (age not provided) shot Lowenski Ames in the head with a .38 caliber revolver.

Police said McCullough admitted shooting Ames and later tossing the murder weapon from her car near Link and Adie roads.

McCullough has a 1987 conviction for second-degree assault and, as a result, is barred from owning or possessing a firearm.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged McCullough with first-degree murder, armed criminal action, unlawful possession of a firearm, and tampering with physical evidence. McCullough is scheduled to appear in court on September 6 for a bond reduction hearing.
