ST. LOUIS – The Heat Advisory has been extended through Friday for the metro St. Louis region.
Temperatures Friday are expected to push into the mid 90s ahead of afternoon storms, and heat index values are expected to be 100+ for the fifth straight day. Please stay cool and hydrated and limit time spent outdoors in the hottest hours of the day.
A cold front moves through late Friday, bringing rain and storms for the afternoon and night. A few storms could be strong to severe, with the threats of strong wind gusts and hail.
Behind this front, cooler air will start to settle in across the region. Clouds will linger Saturday morning for everyone before we start to clear from north to south. Some scattered showers and storms may linger south of metro St. Louis Saturday as well.
Low to mid 80s for highs Saturday and upper 80s on Sunday. A reinforcing shot of cooler air means top temps only near 80 are back for Labor Day Monday.
