ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis Circuit Court judge signed an arrest warrant Wednesday for a man who killed one person and injured two others in a triple shooting last month.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the shooting happened just after 2 a.m. on July 7 at a home in the 4400 block of Grace Avenue, located in the city’s Dutchtown neighborhood.

Police said Brayan Adalberto Rodriguez-Banegas, 20, was at a party with the victims and several other people. At some point, Rodriguez-Banegas and the victims got involved in a fight outside the residence.

Rodriguez-Banegas eventually took out a gun and shot the three victims, police said.

Officers found one victim, Denis Perez-Canales, with a gunshot wound. EMS pronounced Perez-Canales dead at the scene. His age was not provided.

Police said a man and woman, both in their 20s, later arrived on their own at the hospital. The woman had been shot in the leg and the man suffered a gunshot wound to his back.

Rodriguez-Banegas is believed to have fled Missouri to avoid arrest. Police allege he’s in the country illegally.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Rodriguez-Banegas with first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, and three counts of armed criminal action.
