ST. LOUIS – Those who work on the annual “Q in the Lou” barbeque festival in the City of St. Louis say the event has been canceled due to a lack of support.

The event was scheduled to be held at the Arch early next month.

Organizers cite the cancellation as due to trouble receiving corporate sponsorships, VIP ticket sales, and public safety concerns. St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones was promoting the festival with other officials just a month ago.

FOX 2 has reached out to the mayor’s office for comment, but there has not been a response as of Monday evening.
