Police investigating two carjackings in South City

ST. LOUIS – Police are investigating a pair of carjackings that happened a mile and a half from each other on Sunday in south St. Louis City.

The first jacking happened at a Quiktrip on Gravois around 1 a.m. Sunday morning.

Police say a woman was putting air in her tires when a man approached her with a handgun. She handed over her keys, and no one was injured.

About an hour later, a 44-year-year-old man was sitting in his car when the door opened and he was struck in the head.

The theft happened on South Spring Avenue and Potomac Street, just a mile and a half from the first carjacking. Police say the suspect was armed and drove away in the victim’s car.

Anyone with information about either of these carjackings is asked to call the police.
