ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Construction is ongoing for the new North County Police Station on Dunn Road near Route 367 and Interstate 270. The project costs $12.5 million and is funded by Prop P, a half-cent sales tax approved by voters in April 2017.

For the past 25 years, St. Louis County has been leasing space for its police in North County. The new building will save the county $8,300 a month in rent. The station is custom-built with a focus on safety and security.

“The things that make this unquietly a precinct are the fact that we have ample parking for all the police cruisers, we have a heliport and all of that is secured with secured fencing and gates,” said Kevin Underwood, Architect, St. Louis County Public Works. “It allows officers safety in getting detainees out of the cruisers and into the booking and holding area.”

The North County Precinct serves Black Jack, the unincorporated communities of Spanish Lake and Glasgow Village, and the Jamestown and Wedgewood/Barrington neighborhoods.
