MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. – One man is in custody after police said he fatally wounded another man at a Maryland Heights convenience store on Sunday.
According to Officer Terry McComas, a spokesman for the Maryland Heights Police Department, the shooting happened just before 6:15 p.m. at the Circle K near the intersection of McKelvey and Dorsett roads.
Officers arrived to find the 37-year-old victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
McComas said police took a 25-year-old suspect into custody at the scene. Police also recovered a handgun.
The investigation is still ongoing. McComas said police would release additional information on Monday.
