ST. LOUIS – Two young men remain hospitalized after being shot early Sunday morning in downtown St. Louis.
According to a spokesperson for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened around 6:20 a.m. at the BP gas station in the 900 block of South Broadway.
Officers arrived at the scene and learned the victims, said to be in their late teens or early 20s, had already been taken to a local hospital.
Police said the victims were rushed into surgery after arriving at the hospital. They were unable to speak with investigators and listed in critical condition.
The people who drove the victims to the hospital told police the two men were sitting in a parking car at the gas station when gunfire erupted.
After realizing the victims had been wounded, the people drove the pair to the hospital.
The investigation remains ongoing.
